Its surprising when you have been metal detecting for a while what sort of collections you start to form. Even though we are mainly after those elusive silver hammered coins or a rare gold coin its the more commoner finds that soon build into collections and keeps us interested in the hobby.
I've been rummaging through my finds bucket and picked out all the different bullets and musket/pistol balls I have found. They range in size and age and now I get excited when I find one I don't have. I must get around to dating them all, I should think the bullets should be quite easy to date but the musket/pistol balls which had been around for hundreds of years will be more difficult.
